83 Lynda here I come.

83. Get a  Lynda.com subscription.

Yup finally got one of those! I had a trial that I got with my Adobe purchase and I was hooked, it’s how I learned about Dreamweaver and a gained some insight on a few other programs.

The memberships are around $25/month depending on the type of membership you get, for the base price you just get access to the video lessons but if you choose you can also get the lesson files as well. So if you chose the membership that allowed you access to the files as well you could download all the files and do everything right along with the video.

I just recently renewed my membership and am pleased to see that they have added to the list of programs they have videos on! I also found a free 24 hour pass to lynda.com so go check it out and see the plentiful resources.

#7 The basement awaits.

7. Finish remodeling the basement.

Well it’s not finished but progress has been made! Last weekend while I was away at Yoga Teacher Training Sam and his friend Steve apparently decided it was time to take out part of the cement wall in the basement.

It was definitely an interesting sight to come home to.

Website Updates and then some!

39. Redesign my website. – Actually took place a little while ago but my poor list has been neglected. I do apologize for the lack of updates about the list.

Oh right anyway – back to the website. If you saw it before, I apologize, it was crap. I made it when I knew nothing about websites from the free builder my hosting company offered. It probably would have been a fine site for some but it didn’t suite any of my needs and annoyed me on a daily basis.

I’m so happy to say that annoyance is no longer a part of my life thanks to the purchase of Dreamweaver. It’s still not exactly what I want – I need to find something a little more intriguing for the home page but for the time being the site is easily 200% better than the last one.

Wooh!

Yoga Teacher Training – #4

4. Attend Yoga Teacher Training – This is a major one on my list of things to accomplish and I spent my first weekend at teacher training this past weekend.

Already I can tell that this is going to be a great experience and I am SO glad that I am making this happen. Just this one weekend has already renewed my dedication to keep doing yoga and work on my other goals of things like running a 1/2 marathon, developing a daily yoga practice, trying rock climbing and kayaking and even working for myself. In fact I am feeling the burn today from not only a full weekend of yoga but also getting outside and really starting my mileage for that 1/2 marathon goal.

For updates on the Yoga teacher training head over to the fit blog and read all about what I’m learning :)

A few things to mention and Jessica went to jail.

If you didn’t already know the website has a schnazzy new look…. go check it out www.capturelifellc.com. I have a few things I’ll be adding as time goes on but for right now I’m pretty happy with the way it looks and functions. Unfortunately it’s release coincided with the downfall of all wordpress related things on my website. As you can see the blogs are back and functioning and I’ll be posting some things I have saved up and post dating them from when the blogs were down. I don’t usually post date things but this time I might make an exception.

Something else I wanted to mention is that the discounted gift cards (we’re talking massive discounts) are only available until the end of the month so if you’re wanting one go get it soon. They don’t expire and they’re just my way of making it a little easier on you as I transition into actually charing what I’m worth. You can purchase them from this post or via the Capture Life website.

Oh yes… and now the jail part. I was locked up today for Muscular Dystrophy! I managed to raise a little over $450 to go towards the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Check out my mug shot below…

#20 for 2009 is done!

20. Write the Christmas letter and send it.

I got the letter in all it’s glory sent out (before Christmas even) and got a lot of compliments on it.

You can take a peak at it, I did take out the actual letter portion as I didn’t want to bore you with all the ramblings :)

I just want it perfect….

I’ve been working on a new site for Capture Life for quite some time now and every time I think well this just might be it the little voice in my head says… but couldn’t this be better? Last night I finally told that voice that this is just going to have to work for right now because this project needs to get off my plate. I’m putting the finishing touches on this week and the site will be launched later this week.

There’s something to be said for having things perfect but at some point you just have to say enough is enough.

85 + 86 = Done and Done!

We went to Oxford Monday to go pick up Sam’s new (old) truck. We sold my old car before Christmas and I was sad to see it go but did manage to use most of the money to pay off some things :) Since we sold the car we had been a one car family while we were trying to get all the business with this truck straightened out. After many phone calls and waiting on the post office we were finally able to head out to get this truck and bring it home.

Happily that crosses 2 items off my 100 in 1001 list and Sam get’s just what he wanted (almost) an old diesel truck. (The almost is because this truck is a flatbed and that wasn’t what he was imagining for his ideal truck) It also means that I don’t have to drive him to work in the morning anymore and I can get back to my usual schedule. The dropping him off wasn’t so bad but I usually do my computer work between when I get done with work and when he gets home, I was losing all that time to driving back and forth to pick him up – hence the lack of posting and updates to my website.

2009 Reflection

I have come across a lot of people on the internet (blogs I read, friends on facebook, etc.) that can’t wait for 2010. Most of these people want to put 2009 behind them because it was filled with not so great stuff, they feel that with a new year will come a chance to start over and have a better year. Then there are a few people that are just darn excited to start the new year with a bang and get going on the great stuff!

My 2009 wasn’t bad, there were quite a few things that I wanted to do but didn’t happen, but there were also quite a few great things that happened that I didn’t plan on.

Looking back at my 2009 and reviewing it has made me realize a few things I think I could change to make the next year even better. I want to focus more on the few aspects that make me really happy of each of my services instead of feeling like I should excel at everything that could possibly be encompassed in that service. Pretty much everything I want to tweak for the new year is something about focusing on things I enjoy and phasing out the not so fun stuff.

What will you be focusing on for your next year?

Christmas Card Fiasco

I was all excited that I got all my family letters out, cards for friends and business cards out with a little time to spare. (Getting personal things done has never been a priority when there’s client work to do.) I sent out a card to all of the clients, friends and just cool people that I had addresses for. (I encourage you to update your newsletter subscription with an address so I can send you cards too!)

Today in the mail came a big fat stack of all the cards back. These are not heavy cards, they aren’t abnormally large cards and if anything they are about the size of a postcard so I was thinking I might have put too much postage on them. Nope, a normal stamp was not enough apparently I need another 20 cents for each card. I will be heading to the post office on Monday to figure out why this is and then to pay the postage and get my cards sent out… late.

So if you’re reading this and you’re a client, that I have an address for, sorry your card was late. It was on time the first time I sent it.

Hope you had a Merry Christmas!
Jessica
